A rare Kazak long carpet from the northern Caucasus mountains region between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. The rich brick red field is overlaid with a central pole formed with five interconnected diamond-shaped medallions. The pole represents everlasting life symbolized in an ascending formation starting on the ground and heading towards the open sky. The field is filled with various abstract icons representing flowers in bloom. The carpet is framed with a playful barberpole border.
