An elegant prayer carpet from the West Turkestan region in present-day Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan. The brownish red field is woven with ten octagonal gul medallions, A prominent geometric arch-shaped mihrab sits at the top of the stacked octagons, forming the directional pointer for the carpet to be placed in a position facing the direction of Mecca.
