A colourful East Anatolian Kurdish version of a carpet typically derived from the Caucasus mountains region. The composition is formed with vertical bands containing paisley ‘botehs’. An apricot orange wide border filled with crab-shaped icons frames the field. The slightly uneven shape is an endearing feature of this nomadic weaving, most likely resulting from reassembling the makeshift loom after periodic seasonal migrations.
