A Southwest Persian area bag face, likely woven by a Bakhtiari weaver. The weaving represents one or two faces of a large bag, sometimes referred to as a “mafrash” used to carry large objects or bedding material of the nomads. Two horizontal panels decorate the beautiful utilitarian weaving, where one panel shows a horizontal row of diamonds and the other panel represents flowers on stalks.
