A brilliant colourful Caucasian carpet from the Derbend region in the environs of present-day Daghestan, the “land of mountains”. The beautiful red field is overlaid with six complete diamond-shaped medallions and two half medallions. Random flora-inspired symbols are used across the open spaces of the field. An aqua blue base narrow border filled with a flowering vine surrounds the red central field area.
