A rare Kurdish carpet, probably woven by the Shekak tribe living in Northern Persia. A beautifully oxidized red-brown field is overlaid with horizontal rows of serrated edge diamonds in a full range of colours. A beautiful single wide white border frames the perimeter and is adorned with iconography inspired by old Caucasian dragon and serpent carpets.
