An unusual long format carpet from the Gendje region of the Caucasus mountains area in present-day Armenia and Azerbaijan. The most prominent feature of this carpet is a large-scale ivory white major border drawn with a composition depicting a scrolling vine made up of large-scale four quartered floral forms. A narrow minor border outlines the left and right perimeter and is probably missing at the top and bottom ends due to the age of the carpet. A beautiful red central panel is filled with large eight pointed stars scattered in a neatly arranged formation within the panel.
