This oleograph published by the Ravi Varma Press depicts Panchdevta. We can see Lord Shiva enthroned with Parvati and Ganesha in his lap at the centre and his vahana Nandi below. To their left are a four-armed Vishnu and Vaishnavi, while to their right are a two-armed Vishnu and Ganesha; together they form the Panchdevta, or the five lords. This lot is unique for the embellishments that were done on them, primarily by women of the Chettiar community in Southern Tamil Nadu, in the early part of the 20th century.
