A magnificent Northwest Persian carpet probably woven by a Kurdish weaver. The long field is subdivided into a vertically arranged, diamond-shaped lattice outlined with jagged dividers drawn from flower-shaped forms. Each section of the lattice contains a flowering shrub arranged in different formations. A wide major border frames the field of the carpet and contains a wavy flowing blue river. Nooks and crannies in the various bends of the river show representations of life around the tribal villages. Two minor scrolling borders flank the major border on either side. Beautiful fleecy wool.
