A highly coveted 'gol firangi' (“flowers for the foreigner”) runner format weaving from Northwest Persia, probably woven by a Kurdish weaver for the European market. Carpets in these floral compositions were highly coveted in Europe in the early days of the twentieth century. The deep brown field of the runner is covered with nine pairs of bold floral bouquets arranged in horizontal rows along the entire length. Three narrow borders surround the floral field and further enhance the beautiful weaving with additional scrolling vines.
