From illustrations by the Tagores to signed monographs by modernists F N Souza, Jehangir Sabavala, S H Raza, M F Husain and many others, this rare collection of books represents some of the hidden treasures in the world of Indian art.
The 76 lots show the interdisciplinary engagement between the various fields of liberal arts. Highlights include artist Sadequain's illustrative interpretation of Algerian writer Albert Camus' famous novel 'L'Etranger', Satyajit Ray's illustrations to Abanindranath Tagore's children’s book 'Cheese Doll', Abanindranath Tagore and Asit Haldar's interpretation of the 'Omar Khayyam', and much more.
