This Tuesday, StoryLTD features a diverse collection of rare books dedicated to visual art and poetry, some of which include magnificent illustrations by leading artists and poems by poets of the early 20th century. The auction includes 88 lots that demonstrate how, throughout history, these two streams of the arts have engaged with and influenced each other.

Among the highlights of the sale are Ramananda Chatterjee's The Golden Book of Tagore, which features plates by Nandalal Bose and Abanindranath Tagore along with a signed letter with doodles by Rabindranath Tagore; Gaganendranth Tagore, Realm of the Absurd / Adbhut Lok (in Bangla script), which features 16 large full-page lithographs including the cover page of satirical pictures or caricatures, a limited edition of L'Etranger by Nobel prize winner Albert Camus illustrated by Sadequain Naqqash; a first edition, signed copy of Himalaya with illustrations by Nicholas Roerich; Mulk Raj Anand's Poetry to be Seen signed by M F Husain, and Husain ki Kahani Apni Zubani which anthologises the poems of the eponymous modern master.
