Born In Tehran in 1982. Self-thought, after 2 years at Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux. Living and working between countries, including France and Iran.
No matter where I go and where else I live, I always come to Iran and have a visceral connection to the country. My sensitivity and the things I see and live elsewhere, the rhythm of my life and my travels, my heritage and my education, place me in a constant overlap, superposition and merge of different realities and different ways of embracing life.
I focus since always on daily absurdity. Amazed by what makes something absurd (defined as absurd from a free common sense point of view), repeat day after day, until it becomes normal and after a while justified and sometimes appreciated. It could be a light and funny incident as it could be a heavy matter. Considering Iran as my heart, most of my work ties back to my take of social and daily situation in Iran, even though they are after all universal themes. Within this world of daily absurdities, I work on the in-between, the invisible, the transition, the boundaries, the frontiers; of private and public, male and female, love and hate, freedom and constraints, life and death, etc.
