Chast 1 [i.e. Part 1] of an uncommon, large monograph published by the Roerich Society founded in Riga, Latvia. It is the first and only published part of what was to be a larger series, which was curtailed with the Soviet invasion of Latvia soon after the book's release just before Second World War. It is an extensive coverage of Roerich's oeuvre, with primary focus on his work in the Himalayas and Tibet.
Author Vsevolod Nikanorovich Ivanov (1888-1971) was a writer, publisher, and a close friend of Roerich. Erikh Fedorovich Gollerbakh (1895-1942) was a historian of art and culture. A sumptuous production on heavy paper and fine colour printing.
