A whimsical Baluch carpet from the area straddling present-day Persia and Afghanistan. The design comprises an abstracted tree of life laid on a camel brown field, with the trunk of the tree forming the central vertical axis and the leaves represented as angular hooked paisley botehs. A system of several narrow borders frames the field, with each border filled with different forms of flowers and abstract geometric icons.
