This oleograph published by the Ravi Varma Press depicts Yashoda and Krishna. The oleograph was made after a painting by C G Ramanujan, showing the growing popularity of the Ravi Varma Press to be able to commission artists to execute works for the press. This work is particularly spectacular for its rich embellishments and appliqué work which was done primarily by women of the Chettiar community in Southern Tamil Nadu, in the early part of the 20th century.
