Bhuta Kola is a form of ritual worship prevalent in the coastal regions of Karnataka and northern Kerala. The ritual, which involves elaborate dances, recitals, costumes and music, is performed in honour of the Bhutas or guardian spirits of the land. Panjurli, the spirit of a male wild boar, is a central figure among them. The present lot includes three bronze sculptures depicting Panjurli in the form of three wild boars and a central Bhuta deity.
