13 large albumin photographs of Benares ghats. Each measuring 11 x 14.5 in (27.9 x 36.8 cm)

These are certainly from a disbound album of photographs [see the lot 2] taken by BABU JAGESHWAR PRASAD, royal photographer of the Maharaja of Benares, in the 1880s. Each photograph is pasted on a loose sheet with the title of the image pasted below in the form of a printed paper strip.

pp. xxx, 154 pages; printed in sepia ink and profusely illustrated with printed sepia images set within green ornamental strips. Illustrates all the ghats of Benares and the images appear to have been taken in the 19th century.
