SIGNED IN INK BY NOBEL LAUREATE CV RAMAN

This is the first edition of a biography on the first Indian scientist to win a Nobel Prize in Science. It's titled "Sir C.V. Raman, A Short Biographical Sketch" and was written by P. Krishnamurti. This is a first edition printed in 1938.

This copy has a black and white frontispiece signed by CV Raman in ink. A rare example of a signed book by one of the brightest Indian minds in science who was awarded the 1930 Nobel Prize for his groundbreaking work in the field of light scattering. The phenomenon is now known as 'Raman Scattering' and is the result of 'Raman Effect'. In 1954, the Indian Government honoured him with the highest civilian honour, The Bharat Ratna.
