These photographs were part of the book "Princes and Chiefs of India. A Collection of Biographies and Portraits of the Indian Princes and Chiefs and Brief Historical Surveys of the Territories" by JEHANGIR SORABJI. In the Preface, Sorabji writes that he, "visited all parts of India to collect and verify the necessary material, to enlist the co-operation of those concerned, and to arrange for the photographs which add so greatly both to the contemporary and historical value of the undertaking."
