Each issue measures 11.5 x 9 inches, has covers of a different colour, and is sewn and carries paintings largely by Bengal School artists, many of them well-known and others forgotten today.
Each issue also has one or two pages of text commenting on the paintings.
The 6 issues offered have 96 colour plates in all.
The album was issued by Ramanand Chatterjee, nationalist editor ofthe monthly 'The Modern Review', in the 1920s and there were 17 issues in all. Each issue had 16 plates by contemporary artists as well reproductions of old paintings from traditional schools.
